A Prime Fusion of Heritage Preservation and Modern Architectural Expansion

Situated in one of London’s most sought-after enclaves near Battersea Park and Chelsea Bridge, the Battersea Park Road Flats Extension is a signature project in the Evoke portfolio. This prime development was meticulously designed to expand the capacity and luxury of five existing residences while maintaining the distinct architectural charm and aesthetic integrity of the original SW11 building.

Architectural Synergy & Design Philosophy

Our design approach for this project focused on seamless integration. By blending contemporary functionality with the building’s existing character, we achieved a structural expansion that feels both natural and innovative.

  • Space Optimization: Each of the five extensions was carefully engineered to maximize natural light and optimize internal flow, creating spacious, dual-aspect living environments.

  • Bespoke Layouts: Every extended flat now features two generous bedrooms, each equipped with private en-suite facilities, complemented by an additional high-specification main bathroom for common areas.

  • Curated Interiors: The new living spaces are defined by modern finishes and high-end fixtures that transition perfectly from the original structure to the new expansion.

Technical Execution & Sustainability Delivered between August 2020 and December 2021, Evoke Design & Build managed every phase of this complex “live-site” extension with rigorous attention to detail.

  • Materiality & Durability: We utilized high-quality, sustainable materials to ensure long-term structural longevity and environmental performance.

  • Energy Efficiency: The expansion served as an opportunity to upgrade the building’s thermal envelope, incorporating advanced insulation solutions and energy-efficient appliances to reduce the environmental footprint.

  • Logistical Mastery: As the primary contractor, we maintained a strict focus on minimizing local disruption, ensuring existing security and parking infrastructure remained fully operational throughout the construction lifecycle.
